REGULATION AND LICENSING

Greater regulation will provide fairness and a level playing field for agents, and increased protection for consumers. ARLA Licensed agents are already regulated and operate to the highest professional standards. They are fully qualified, they have client money protection and they adhere to a code of conduct which safeguards consumers whether they are landlords or tenants. 

LETTING AGENTS' FEES TO TENANTS

ARLA Managing Director David Cox shares his views on the outright ban of letting agents' fees to tenants being called for by a politicians. Fees need to be open, up front and transparent and cannot be banned. A recent survey of ARLA members showed that on average tenants were charged total fees of £202.
