An increase in tenant demand and a slow down of properties becoming available to let can lead to a very frustrating time for prospective tenants. Recent experience at Anderson's is that most properties are letting within two weeks of being made available, many let within 48 hours.

Here's a few handy hints to help you find the ideal property quickly.

Many agents list their properties first on their own website or on www.OnTheMarket.Com 24 or 48 hours before any other property portal. Regsiter with letting agents directly, particularly the agents who are strong in your preferred locations. Don't rely on Rightmove notifications alone as their notifications are sent out in huge numbers and tenant enquires can be overwelming for some agents on the most popular properties. Complete as much information as possible on your enquiry form, cut and paste your circumstances from one enquiry to another.

Agents and landlords like as much detail as possible i.e. do you have children, pets, are you working full time or part time, is the property for you and a friend, or you and your partner, do you have a set date you want a property for? 

Look for a property around a month before you actually want to move in and let the agent know as much as possible about your property requirements and your own circumstances. Be flexible when you can attend viewings and always establish all the agent's fees and deposit requirements as these vary enormously.
